British Values

Our values in the UK are as follows:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of Law
  • Mutual Respect and Tolerance
  • Individual Liberty (within the law)

Note that this is fundamentally and most incredibly sad for me because the values don’t include love and kindness.

Spanish Flu, (FIRST World war)

The Spanish Flu ended the first world war, not the second world war. Spanish flu was highly contagious. Young and old healthy or not would get symptoms and die as quickly as 6 hours from the initial symptoms. This makes COVID-19 seem a bit weak. The second world war was ended by two main invasion forces. The combined D-Day beach invasion that included forces from the USA broke through enemy lines into Europe. A separate large invasion force was formed and left from Russia that struck straight into the heart of Nazi Germany. This was after the Nazi attempt to take Russia. (I think someone in the high command in Germany must have been numerically dyslexic – dyscalculia.)

Exoskeleton for Astronauts to Mars, Probably Good Idea

After so long in space to arrive at Mars an exoskeleton support system might be a life-line for the astronauts. Mars might feel more like Jupiter after time in space. NASA and SpaceX probably considered this already but there’s no harm in pointing it out again. I think that there is a higher probability of life under the surface of Titan (one of Saturn’s moons) than any on Mars. Unless they are intending to use Mars as a landing station for Titan as, obviously, Titan is much further away. By exoskeleton, I mean robotic assistance to aid muscular movement as well as the already well established environmental space suit.

Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)

Suggested for further investigation by President Donald Trump in the fight against COVID-19.

Information about Isopropyl Alcohol from HealthLine.com. Interesting read, some people have probably been exposed to Isopropyl Alcohol in their jobs anyway.

I wonder if there is any evidence to show that people exposed to Isopropyl Alcohol by inhalation of fumes, i.e. cleaners, are less likely to be hospitalised by COVID-19 or if it makes no difference?

There is also mention of Isopropyl Alcohol being linked to Laryngeal (larynx) cancer on the NHS website.

Some hand sanitizers use IPA. Also, IPA gets absorbed through the skin. Does this mean you should not use these hand sanitizers too often?
